What's a Lab-Grown Diamond?
Lab-Grown Diamond also known as man made diamonds are grown in highly advanced laboratory environments using processes that replicate the conditions under which diamonds naturally develop. Our Lab-Grown Diamonds are identical to mined diamonds whether it is chemical, optical or physical properties, which is why according to the Federal Trade Commission, a diamond is a diamond no matter whether it is grown in a lab or dug out of a diamond mine. The Commissionno longer defines a ‘diamond’ by using the term ‘natural’ because it is now possible to create products that have essentially the same optical, physical, and chemical properties as mined diamonds. It’s essentially pure carbon crystalized in the isometric cubic system
Either grown in HPHT press or CVD chamber, the lab-growns are basically all the same as mined diamonds.
Being the same optical, physically, and chemically as mined diamonds, lab-growns also have a big amount of advantages, such as less CO2 emissions, no soil being dig up in enormous amounts, no child labour being involved. But at the same time lab-growns are more affordable.
Not only the community begins to consider lab-growns but also GIA and FTC now have changed their opinion from “synthetic wannabe” to “man made or lab created”
